Rio de Janeiro (Portuguese for 'river of January') aka Rio is the carnival capital of the world. No other city can even dream of competing with this legacy. Every part of the city is a beauty, look up and you see the statue of Christ the Redeemer ('Cristo Redentor') protecting the city, take a trip in the Bonde de Santa Teresa and you see the nostalgic area of the city, take Samba lessons or party at Ipanema or the Copacabana. If you are all about nature, then rent a jeep and visit the Tijuca Forest in the vicinity. Else, wake up late, have a hearty brunch and stroll down the flea markets. Whatever you choose to do, you will fin Rio in each activity.
