Atlantic Airways is the national airline of the Faroe Islands. It operates international passenger services from its base at Vagar Airport, on the Faroese island of Vagar.
Atlantic Airways was founded in 1987, initially by the Faroese Government and Danish airline Cimber Air. However, by 1989 it was fully owned by the Faroese government. It made its first flight from Vágar to Copenhagen on 28 March 1988. The airline operates flights to International destinations like Denmark, Iceland, Norway Sweden, Greenland and United Kingdom.
